Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will I have to clean the insides of my cabinets?

A: Our installers will remove large debris from the cabinet interiors, but you will have to clean the interior of the cabinets after we are finished.

Q: Will my home get dusty?

A: Although we do our best to keep dust to a minimum, it does travel.  We recommend you put a bed sheet or cover on any items you want to keep dust free.

Q:  I am having a new breadboard installed?

A:  After the installation is completed, you will need to oil your breadboard, with mineral oil.  This will keep the unfinished wood from swelling.

Q: I am painting the inside of my cabinets, should this be done before or after the re-facing?

A: We recommend painting before we start.  You can take the doors off and drawers out and paint the inside of the cabinets and the inside face frame edge. Upon preparation of the cabinets for veneer, we will scuff the outside of the cabinets as well as a portion of the inside edge. This edge will need to be touched up after installation.

Q: I am planning to paint or use wall coverings on the walls in my kitchen; can I do this before the cabinets are installed?

A: We recommend painting after we are finished. Our installers are careful, but freshly painted walls scuff easily and would require you to touch them up.

Q: I am having my flooring installed; will you come back and install the floor molding?

A: If DNA kitchen Designs is not installing the flooring we will leave the molding ready for installation by your flooring company.  You may request us to return to install your base molding for an additional trip charge.

Q: Do I have to be home during the installation?

A: Most of our clients do work during the day. Customers’ care can arrange with you for us to have access to your home while you are at work.  We ask that you leave us a daytime telephone number.

Q: I am purchasing a new sink will I need anything else?

A: When replacing your sink, you will also need to purchase a new air gap, and basket strainer for you sink.

Q: I am replacing my garbage disposal and dishwasher will I need anything else?

A: When replacing your garbage disposal or dishwasher, you will need to purchase a new pigtail, “plug” for the new appliance.  Often times, garbage disposals and dishwashers do not come with the pigtail “plug” attached to the appliance.
